In recognition of its exceptional health and safety performance, Bachy Soletanche has recently received the coveted RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) President’s Award after achieving its 10th consecutive RoSPA Gold Award this year.
Implementing preventative action plans, collaborating with site teams on risk management and delivering a falling objects awareness campaign were some of the key areas where Bachy Soletanche excelled in 2023.
The Gold Award is the highest accolade of the RoSPA Achievement Awards. To enter, companies must demonstrate how they are managing health and safety through various means, including senior leadership involvement, training and competency, workforce participation and consultation, and accident investigation and remediation.
Bachy Soletanche’s interim health and safety manager John Martin noted:
“This is a very important moment for the business as it demonstrates our continuous commitment to prioritising the health, safety and wellbeing of our employees. The RoSPA Awards scheme is the most renowned health and safety programme in the UK, so to receive 10 consecutive Gold Awards is an achievement to be extremely proud of. It is testament to the collaboration and dedication of the entire team. I’d like to say a special thankyou to our SHEQ advisor Liam McKenna who put a lot of effort into this submission.”
The recent award follows on from a particularly successful year for Bachy Soletanche in health and safety performance. In 2023, Bachy Soletanche won the Soletanche Freyssinet ‘Victor’ Health and Safety Award, as well as two EFFC (European Federation of Foundation Contractors) Health and Safety Awards for its technical innovations.
Bachy Soletanche will be presented with the President’s Award on the 14th of May 2024 at the JW Marriott Grosvenor House, London.
