Bachy Soletanche has strengthened its ability to serve clients across the UK and Ireland through structuring the business into three distinct divisions. The geotechnical specialists will operate a regional business, formed of Northern and Southern Divisions, along with a nationwide Projects Division.

The Northern Division, led by Shaun Davison, will specialise in delivering smaller projects, for new and existing clients, throughout the Midlands, Northern England and Scotland. In addition to this, the team will continue to deliver large-scale projects for clients as and when required, with previous schemes including Shieldhall Tunnel in Glasgow, Preston Western Distributor Road and the Mersey Gateway Crossing.

The Southern Division, with Martin Stanley at the helm, will provide geotechnical engineering for clients across the entire South of England and South Wales. Building on strong client and supply chain relationships throughout the region, the team will continue to offer a wide variety of piling and ground engineering solutions to projects of various scales and value, whether in urban environments or remote locations across the infrastructure and commercial sectors.

Headed up by Dominic Lovelock, the Projects Division will focus on substantial geotechnical and civil engineering schemes across the UK and Ireland.  The team has the experience, expertise and scalability to operate as either a geotechnical specialist, a Principal Contractor, or as part of a wider joint venture offering, as currently seen on the Tideway and HS2 projects.

Supporting the three Divisions will be a newly formed Engineering department. Led by Sivilay Sayavong, the department will be responsible for delivering permanent and temporary works designs, developing effective solutions to complex challenges and bringing new techniques to the UK market. The team will not only draw upon expertise based in the UK, but also the global strength of the Soletanche Bachy group of companies.

The new organisation forms a key part of a three-year strategy to grow the business with a renewed client focus and strong operational excellence. Commenting on the new structure, Bachy Soletanche managing director Tamas Kaltenbacher said:

“We are placing our clients firmly at the heart of the business and are confident that this approach will enable us to provide a better service through offering a more tailored package of solutions. This will allow us to diversify our client base, strengthen our position in new geographical areas and sectors, and broaden our offering – including a wider range of solutions and a variation in the scale of contracts that we are able to deliver, from small local schemes to complex multi-disciplinary projects.”
