Bachy Soletanche’s continued healthy and safety efforts over the past year have recently been recognised with another RoSPA (The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold Award, marking the 8th year in a row that the geotechnical contractors have received this prestigious award.
The RoSPA awards recognise companies and teams across the world that uphold exceptional health and safety standards. As part of the application process, the company underwent a thorough assessment by an independent panel of RoSPA certified adjudicators who review areas including performance, management systems, culture, risk control and incident rates.
Bachy Soletanche’s success in winning the Gold Award, which is the highest accolade of the RoSPA Achievement Awards category, is testament to the persistent dedication that the company has shown throughout 2021 to care for its employees, clients, supply chain and all third parties, ensuring everyone can return home safely at the end of each day.
One of Bachy Soletanche’s major focuses regarding health and safety over the past year has been developing its +People Programme, a behavioural change programme that is transforming the company’s safety, environment and quality performance through employee training and one-to-one development coaching. Since the Programme’s inception, Bachy Soletanche has seen a continuous drop in accidents, incidents and near miss events.
Bachy Soletanche Health & Safety Manager, Mal Mearns, commented,
“Our 8th RoSPA Gold Award is an incredible achievement for the company and a recognition for all the positive work being done to maintain our outstanding health and safety standards. I would personally like to thank John Martin from the SHEQ team for all the hard work that was put into this year’s submission, as well as the site and support teams for their ongoing cooperation.”
